Kudroli Sri Gokarnanatheshwara Temple:
Kudroli Gokarnath Temple is situated 3km away from main city area. Recently, this temple has been renovated and now it is one of the tourist attraction places in Mangalore. The Temple was then renovated under the leadership of Central Finance Minister Sri B. Janardhana Poojary in 1989 and was completed within two years in 1991. The renovated Sri Gokarnanatha Kshethra was inaugrated by the Prime Minister of India Sri Rajiv Gandhi under the Presidentship of Sri B. Janardhan Poojary in 1991. The temple is famous for Mangalore Dasara - an annual 10-day elaborate festival celebrating Dasara.
Apart from famous beaches and old temples, there indeed are plenty of places to visit in Mangalore such as national parks and museum. Visiting Mangalore is an enriching experience as a traveller.

ReplyDeleteThe Gokarnanatheshwara Temple, otherwise known as Kudroli Sri Gokarnanatha Kshetra, is in the Kudroli area of Mangalore in Karnataka, India. It was consecrated by Narayana Guru. It is dedicated to Gokarnanatha, a form of Lord Shiva. This temple was built in 1912 by Adhyaksha HoigeBazar Coragappa.
The temple is 2 km from the centre of Mangalore city. The temple has Gopuram (tower like structure) decorated with murals of various gods and goddesses. Murals depict scenes from Hindu epics and legends.
