Also know as Tagore Park is a beautiful park and a favorite hangout for the youngsters. It is located in the heart of the city. The view of the sea from here is marvelous, you can also get to see the ships sailing and watch the sunset from here. The garden also surrounds a old light house with full of huge trees and flowering plants.
There is also a small artificial stream that flows down a rock strewn channel. There is a public library at the base of the light house with a reading room named after Karnad Sadashiv Rao, a renowned freedom fighter.
Light House Hill Garden, assumed to be built by Haider Ali, is situated very close to the heart of the city of Mangalore. Awesome scenes of sailing ships and beautiful view of setting sun are the main attractions from this newly renovated garden. The picturesque perfect scene of the moving boats in the background of the vast blue span of the sea is marvelous.
Flushing with green sceneries, plants and flowers, the place attracts lots of people during the vacations. People wanting to relax with their families can spent the evening in the cool calm cover of nature here.
